goblue Posted February 28, 2006 Share Posted February 28, 2006 Can you mix DDR400 and DDR500 ram on a D865PERL motherboard? I ordered two sticks of 1gb ram that happens to be DDR500. It did read the DDR 500 memory,( i only put in the 2 1gb chips in and took out the two 256 modules of ddr400 and set them aside) it thinks it is DDR400 though which i think it is what it is supposed to do.(because intel only lists ddr400 as compatible with the board) However, it does say that it is in single channel dynamic paging mode and I am wondering if this is bad. I thought I remember reading somewhere that this was the incorrect setting on this particular board. I am at the intel site now to see if there is anything on it but so far no luck. Basically though the XMS4000 or DDR500 is working and being recognized but simply reads at DDR400. Thanks again for your info, if you can help further I would appreciate it very much.
