Alenarne
This is probably a silly question, but I would rather not fry my GPU. As I mentioned, I have an HX850 and RTX 2080 Ti - this card requires 2x 8 pin cables to connect to it. It's been quite a few years since and if I recall correctly, the PSU I used previously had the CPU and PCI-E ports explicitly labeled (never worried about if there were the same thing/interchangable). 1.) Is there any difference between the 8 pin ports on the PSU? There are 5 of them with no specific label on any of them- just "6+2 PCI-E & 4+4 CPU" in the middle of them all. Assuming they are all the same, then only using the correct cable matters. Obviously the CPU cable will go up to the ATX 2x4 on the motherboard. That said.. 2.) I suppose I just run 2x 6+2 PCI-E cables to the 2080 Ti?
Corsair Employee Corsair Notepad Posted June 17, 2019 Corsair Employee Share Posted June 17, 2019 They are the same connections on the PSU end. Just make sure to use the correct cables which should be labeled PCIE.
Waukeen
T 2.) I suppose I just run 2x 6+2 PCI-E cables to the 2080 Ti? With the 2080Ti two cables are better than one.
Alenarne
They are the same connections on the PSU end. Just make sure to use the correct cables which should be labeled PCIE. Okay great, thanks for confirming - I will be using the correct cables for sure! With the 2080Ti two cables are better than one. Thanks for the info - I will definitely be running two separate PCIE cables.
npzeyer
You can run one cable with two pcie connectors per card. I have to on my HX850i since I have no more space in the back of the case for routing. But if you do, you must set single rail.
