23april
Hello! I am new here and I only have a "little" question. The write speed of my p256 is only 110 - 130 mb/s (at max.) - tested with Crystal Disk Mark. The read speed is over 210 mb/s. Can someone explain why the max. write speed is that slower than it should be? OS = Vista 32bit Thank you!
Yellowbeard
I assume you are running the OS on this disk? If yes, do you have the ability to test the drive attached as a data drive on another system? Also, please fill in your system specifications so that we can see what hardware you are using.
23april
Yes, I run the OS on this disk. The P256 is in a Sony Vaio Z31 - I built it into the laptop instead of the HDD. To be honest - I do not want to open this laptop again.
23april
You gave me an idea. I have two partitions on the P256 - so I tried the Crystal Disk Mark on Volume D - the read speed has not changed but the write speed increased significantly up to 155. Can anyone tell me why? Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted June 26, 2009 Corsair Employee Share Posted June 26, 2009 When the drive is the boot drive it will slow the performance in a benchmark because of the O.S. over head so that may be normal.

Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted June 29, 2009 Corsair Employee Share Posted June 29, 2009 NP and you can connect the drive to another system as a second HDD and run the test to be sure there is not some other issue.
