Cube8
After 5 years using this SSD I am very happy about it, but I recently discovered that it has fw version 1.0, which doesn't support trim, so I decided to try an update. I followed this guide, but I didn't manage to do the update. Here's what I did: Made a bootable USB drive and put the lower128.exe file in it.Removed all other drives from the MB, including the DVD drive, leaving just the SSD and the USB flash drive.Booted from USB and ran lower128.exe but the program couldn't find the drive.Tried hot-swapping SATA ports and immediately trying again without rebooting: No avail.Tried flagging the SATA ports hot-swappable and non-hot-swappable from within BIOS: No avail. Sometimes, just after running the program, it just hang there, not responding to any keys, so I had to do a hard-reset. Then I found out about Corsair SSD Toolbox. The first image I uploaded shows that the drive is recognized but the second image shows that there is no update available. I am aware that X-Series might not be supported by the toolbox, but I wanted to try it anyway. There are 3 things I didn't try: IDE compatibility mode (would it matter?)External USB diskAnother MB (I don't have any spare to give a try) Anyone have any other suggestions that I could try? Toasted
Put in a support ticket and ask if you can send in the SSD to them to update the firmware for you. https://corsair.secure.force.com/
