Difference between (CMD64GX4M4C3000C15) and (CMD64GX4M4B3000C15)?

All the specs are the same except for that one is designed for both the x99 and 100 while the other is just designed for the 100 series or so they say. There is a 110$ difference between the two and I don't trust companies enough to not write it off as bs. I am wondering if I get the CMD64GX4M4B3000C15, will I be able to use it with the Rampage edition 10 all the same?

Awnser from Colif:

I would ask on the Asus forums for your motherboard if you want an answer from someone who owns motherboard. I don't like telling people to buy something that may not work, so I would check first... the ram looks the same, it has almost identical specs, its even in the same family and only difference is old one comes with a fan. It seems odd they charge 110 more for one less fan, would think there is more to it.

My question: Is there more to this?

I always recommend sticking to what the QVL says, I'm unsure of the specific differences between these two kits.

Supposedly.....

According to this thread....

The difference between the B and C is REVISION

The later revision has had any minor bugs ironed out I would assume...

Correct, they're different revisions, but it doesn't always mean something was made "better", just changed.
