pineromartin
Hi guys, Im building a new PC and Im thinking about buying the following: ASUS ROG-STRIX-GTX1080TI Samsung MZ-M5E500BW Solid State Drive (SSD), 850 EVO, 500 GB Corsair H100i v2 Corsair Dominator Platinum 32GB DDR4-3000 Gigabyte X299 AORUS Gaming 7 Motherboard Intel BX80673I97900X Processor Core i9-7900X My question is as follows, which case would be a good fit without modding? Will a Corsair 460X work or do I need something like an Obsidian Series 750D Airflow Edition? Thanks in advance
Corsair Employee Greybeard Posted March 1, 2018 Corsair Employee Share Posted March 1, 2018 Well those 2 cases are different in many ways, so it really depends on the build you're trying to achieve. But both of those cases will easily accommodate the hardware you listed. 460X is considered mid-tower so it has smaller footprint compared to the 750D which we tag as full tower. Aesthetics, 460X has a tempered glass side and front panels which will your build a modern look. 750D on the other hand is more of ha performance case due to its excellent airflow design, it is built around the Obsidian design - predominantly brushed aluminum finished. It's hard to go wrong either way, it's really a matter of preference imo.
