First build with 570X

Recommended Posts

Hey there,

almost finished my very first PC build ever.

I loved to have plenty of space in the front to build the H150i Push/Pull with great comfort. Cable management in the back is still a bit messy but I am getting there. Can´t wait for my custom PSU shroud cover and some card backplates for cosmetics to arrive. Actually, after receiving all the parts and starting to assemble I figured it is pretty Corsair centric

I deliberately chose a Red/White/Black theme honoring my favorite soccer club ;)

Happy for feedback and ready for hate or praise :)

Btw: Thanks to the forum lads who provided the nice diagrams for setting up the Fan controller, Node Pro, etc. That is really helpful and spared me from considerable frustration...

Specs are the following:

Asus Strix Z370 E-Gaming

i7-8700K der8auer (5GHz)

Palit Super Jetstream GTX 1080

Corsair Dominator Platinum 32GB DDR4-3200

Corsair HX850i

Corsair H150i AiO CPU Cooling

Corsair Crystal 570X

Creative Soundblaster Z

6 x Corsair ML120 Red

3 x Corsair SP120 RGB

Commander Pro

Node Pro

RGB Hub

4 x Corsair LED RGB

1 x Bitfenix LED Red

Cablemod sleeved cables

Keyboard: Speedlink Ultor

Mouse: Logitech G502

Monitor Acer Predator XB271HU

To come:

Custom backplates for soundcard/graphic card and PSU shroud cover from Coldzero

Finally, the fully finished build.

Basically, added some custom Coldzero backplates to GPU and Soundblaster.

Also added the Coldzero custom PSU shroud which I had to further customize sawing out some corners as even thin cables are dangerously squeezed since the shroud fits really tight.

What I found a bit unfortunate is that there is hardly any space for cables that run outside of the dedicated cable funnel, e.g. horizontally. Apart from the cosmetic aspect which can be halfway tackled by using a lot of straps the glass cover sits too tight to run cables from left to the right across the case. I managed to put it on but it would need considerable effort and probably additional material, i.e. extensions, etc. to really do it properly.

Apart from that I was pretty happy with the case and everything else.

look good dude.. what next?

Good question... for now no big plans. Waiting for the GPU market getting back to reason primarily. Also, the CPU is a special delidded CPU with specific heat spreader optimized for OC up to 5 GHz. However, I need some education first how to utilize the potential without blowing up my rig ;)

I also have some thoughts about cannibalizing my old case and see what could be done with that but since there is limited time and actually no real need I will probably spend some time educating myself in CPU overclocking and for the future maybe "how to approach" custom watercooling.
