ForceLE960GB not seen in bios

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have recently (Aug2017) purchased a ForceLE960GB from Amazon. It is intended as an upgrade to a Corsair GS 230GB that I have been using for about three years with no problems.

My problem is that the bios does not see the LE when it does see and boot from the GS, with no other cables, connections or bios settings changed. I can see a red light inside the LE so it is getting power.

Either SSD are connected to my computer via a SATA3 PCIex16 adaptor card that uses a Marvell 88SE91xx chip Bios version 1.1.0.1002 firmware version 2.3.0.103.

I know that the GS uses a SandForce SF-2291 controller whereas the LE uses a Phison PS3110-S10. Is the PS3110-S10 backwards compatible with the Marvell controller?

regards

Dave Smewing

Does the Force LE 960GB work when attached directly to your motherboard's onboard SATA ports? Just need to confirm if the SSD is DOA or not. If it's detected in BIOS when plugged directly into the onboard SATA ports, it might be a compatibility issue with your particular SATA controller add in card (however this will need to be verified before I can give a definitive answer).

Hi

The Force LE does not get recognised on the motherboard SATA ports, but the Force GS does get recognisedand boots.

I see. Assuming that your onboard SATA controllers are enabled. It may be an issue with the drive itself. Have you reached out to our customer support team? Also, if you're within Amazon's return period, you could alternatively initiate an exchange with them.
