Test voltages from RM1000 PSU

Hi. After unplugging some peripheral components from my PC, I tried turning the system back on. The power supply clicked when I booted the PC. Not knowing of any mistake, I tried turning on the PC again and smoke came from the motherboard. I suspect I disturbed one of the output connectors and the sudden change in load caused the PSU to spike ???

So, I know I need a new motherboard. But I want to make sure the voltages out of the RM1000 are as expected before connecting it to a new MB.

I see people have tried the 'paperclip test'. Can someone give me the details of this and what voltage on the output pins I should expect?

Is it possible/likely that I could have also destroyed the CPU or RAM?

Thanks.
