dav66
Hi guys, i'm going to buy a new Asus Z97 for my PC. I tried to find the right ram using memoy finder but the m/b isn't reported. Any help? (i'm searching for DDR3 3000 ram) Thanxs in advance
emissary42
Are you sure about DDR3-3000? Please check some reviews of some DDR3-2933+ kits before buying these, because the stock performance is just not worth it for 24/7 use (esp. considering the the price premium over DDR3-2400). If you are an overclocker, on the other side...
dav66
i'm not an overclocker but i like great perfomance... great performance but with stability... ...the power is nothing without control  so, what kind of ram can give me maximum performance and a good stability? HOODedAssault
I'd just go with 2666. Will easily handle it and will be just as fast as anything higher. Really over 2133 there's no gains. 2666 gives u bit of bragging rights tho.
emissary42
The sweat spot for performance is at 2400 or 2666, depending upon if 4gb or 8gb modules are used. Corsair Platinum CMD16GX3M4A2400C9 or CMD16GX3M4A2666C10 are two very high performance kits, but are a bit hard to get nowadays. If you want 4x8GB, i'd probably look for 2400 CL10 oder 2666 CL11, like CMD32GX3M4A2400C10, CMD32GX3M4A2666C11 or CMY32GX3M4A2666C11R. Of course there also is CMY32GX3M4A2800C12R, but i wouldn't recommend it for plug 'n play everyday use (you might have to tweak bios settings manually for stability).
