winoni71
I'm not clear on this. I have a Force 3 SATA3 90 GB SSD, the 5.03 firmware update thread states that the update if for "ALL SandForce based drives". Is mine SandForce based? Thank you. StandingCow
Make sure you follow the directions in the PDF, you need to match the signature # of your SSD with the file name.
stratosrally
Again referring to the words "ALL SandForce drives", I have the Force 120GB SSD model number CSSD-F120GB2-BRKT. Should I use 2.4 or 5.03? I noticed that the refurb F120B lists the 5.02 as the proper f/w update, so it seems to me 5.03 should be what I use, but the 5.02 update tool Pdf file states Corsair Force 3 & GT at the top. Confusion reigns! I've downloaded 120GB.zip and think that I should D/L the 5.02 update tool to install it. Is this correct?
dejanh
I would like to know this too...are there plans to update the older Corsair Force series drives currently running 2.4 FW (or 5.02 on refurb. drives as previous poster indicated is the case). Can anyone chime in?
StandingCow
I am certainly no expert, but if *I* were still on the 2.4 FW I would stay on that until at least 5.4 comes out... while 5.3 does enable TRIM I think it had some other issues? This is why I thought corsair was going to hold out for 5.4.
stratosrally
My CSSD-F120GB2-BRKT f/w has never been updated. I bought it new years ago and have been using it as my boot/OS drive ever since. I'd like to update the f/w and do a fresh install of Windows 7 on it to perhaps get a little speed back.
Yellowbeard
Post edited, recheck the 5.03 firmware page. This update is for 22** series drives, not the older Force series SATA 2/3Gb drives.
stratosrally
So - to verify, I should use 2.4 f/w update for my CSSD-F120GB2-BRKT - correct?
Wired
So - to verify, I should use 2.4 f/w update for my CSSD-F120GB2-BRKT - correct?1.3.3/5.02/5.03 firmwares are for the 22** series SandForce based drives, NOT yours. The 2.4 is for your drive.

Perkamentus
I have a Force Series 3 with serial number: CSSD-F120GB3 with FW1.3.3.Is it possible to install the FW5.03. on this? The -BK is missing in the serial number at the end. Thanks
Yellowbeard
Yes, 5.03 will work for you. The BK is only to designate if the SSD comes with a BracKet.
