STKDave
I want to build a system with Gigabyte GTX 970 in the 250D. Will the 3X windforce card or the G1 Gaming fit in the case? Or I have to use the MiniITX version of 970 (gv-n970ixoc-4gd) ??
Corsair Employee Corsair Dustin Posted January 6, 2015 Corsair Employee Share Posted January 6, 2015 If you're talking about this guy, you shouldn't have any problems. The only card I've seen that wasn't able to fit because it was too deep was the stock Radeon HD 7990; the dimension you have to worry about is the height of the card, but those 970s look like they're just spec height, so you should be good. STKDave
Yes that is the exact card what i am talking about. I worried because the specs tell about the max 290 mm length. This card is 310 mm. Someone tried this? I do not want to buy it unnecessarily.
Corsair Employee Corsair Dustin Posted January 6, 2015 Corsair Employee Share Posted January 6, 2015 Hm, good catch. If it really is 310mm deep, then yeah, it's not going to work. I'm still mystified by the coolers I'm seeing on GTX 970s, they're 145W cards for crying out loud. You may have to go with the Mini-ITX version or look for an alternative 970 from another vendor with a beefy aftermarket cooler. Part of the problem with this generation is that for some reason, everyone's decided to go with these massive coolers that break PCI spec, and that makes compatibility troublesome.
