jamesx121
couple of times I have tried to install the firmware update- it freezes @ 40% downloading---- can I put ToolBox on a Flash Drive & install the firmware patch on the SSD before I install the Operating System ????? I would secure erase then install the firmware patch then fresh install Windows 7 I am planning on doing a clean install of Windows 7 when Windows 10 comes out--that way I will have a clean upgrade to Windows 10--I hope-- James
Toasted
If the SSD is working fine, you don't really need to update the firmware. If you still want to try and update it, -Make sure AHCI is enabled -Make sure the SSD is plugged into a Intel/AMD SATA port. -Try an older version of the toolbox. -Try the MSAHCI drivers instead of the Intel or AMD SATA drivers.
