DMartell
Hi guys 1st time poster. Sorry if in the wrong area or has been discussed before. I have a question in regards to 16GB 3200mhz version of led ram. I see in many a motherboard QVL that they support the 32GB (4x8). Does this mean that the 16GB kit (2x8) should also work? It would seem odd that 4 dimms would work but 2 wouldn't. My Wife bought a kit ((CMU16GX4M2C3200C16)) I was looking at and had put in our Amazon cart and forgot to take out. However very few MB seem to have that specific 16gb part number in the QVL. Should I return it or just keep it? I won't be building my PC until September. Thanks all
emissary42
If you already got it, just try it out. That a certain model is not listed in a QVL usually only means that it was not tested / was not available at the lab for testing (esp. below the motherboards max supported memory frequency).
