FrozenCity
As the title says, my cpu temp is spiking while idle (to 99c even in bios) and pc shuts down. Tested H75 pump on both the CPU fan socket and one of the case fan sockets both give an rpm reading of over 9000. I think I'm only here to put to rest my own desperation induced denial. My pump has died hasn't it?
FrozenCity
No seriously, I'm asking someone to be the bearer of bad news. 8000+ rpm readings are a clear indication of pump failure right? I assume there is no way to repair it? This thing lasted just shy of 25 months, which I also assume is well past warranty for pump failure (5 year warranty is only for defect/workmanship iirc). It did an absolutely spectacular job of cooling, but I'm curious if 25months is about average for it to fail at as I had banked on it running for at least 36. snapper69
I would say that pump failure is a defect. Use the Support Ticket System link just above your post (you will have to register) and explain the situation to Corsair, Enclose an electronic copy of your purchase rceipt.
