Commander Pro and HD120+140 fans

So I had recently purchased a commander and a 120 fan for a new build I just "completed." Hooked everything up and only got a static light from the fan and no ability to change the LEDs. Contacted tech support and was told that I needed the Lighting node pro to get the LEDs to be changeable. Now that I have 2 140 fans and lighting node on the way, How is all of this supposed to be connected? Seems like a lot of extra for some LED functionality

The CLCP can control the HD RGB fan LEDs and I can't see why a CLNP is needed. See the diagram in http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?p=913898 for how to connect things.

The way that the tech guy made it seem was that one wire from the fan went to the Node and the other to the commander which is where my confusion started.

 

On my fault, I did originally buy the one pack 120 with no controller/hub. Now I have 2 140s on the way with the controller/hub. Was going to be doing that anyway.

 

I'll give the diagram a look in preparation for my 140s coming in.

Bought the HD120 fans, do i just need the commander pro to use them in corsair link? or do i need the node pro or both???

You can do EITHER the Commander Pro OR the Lighting Node Pro.

If you have lots of flashy lights stuff, you can have both. But that's usually only people with RGB addictions.

The CPro has the functionality of the LNP and a bunch more.
