trendiz
I got a Corsair Dominator 6GB PC12800 DDR3 RAM(TR3X6G1600C8D) - Tri Channel memory kit as a gift. From my understanding this is a Tri-channel memory intentionally designed for Intel based boards. Will I have any compatibility or performance issues if I use 2 sticks(2channel) instead of 3 with my AMD based Asus Crosshair IV board? Just want to know if there will be any problems/performance issues using these sticks as dual channel memory instead of Tri as it was originally designed for. Would appreciate it if you could explain the drawbacks of using these memory with AMD board as dual.(excluding have 1 stick out) Thanks ahead of time for your input. Wired
2 sticks will work in dual channel just fine, but that kit hasn't been specifically tested with your platform. Worst case scenario you'll probably have to underclock the memory to 133 or 1066.
