Timeman
Hello I have build me a new pc: -GA-X79 UD3 -i7 3820 - RADEON HD6870 WIND FORCE and 2 kits of CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B. I wanted 1 kit 16GB but the seller told me that is the same. All 4 slots for memory on the mainbord are full. I have problems that the system is unstable, it crashes from time to time. Since I updated the bios, the problems are not so common anymore but they are still there.(less BSOD`s but still frezzing windows). The update of bios changed the ram latency from 9-9-9-24 to 9-9-11-24 is this ok? Please help me how I should configured the memory that the system will play right. What vtt, IMC and voltage? Thanks in forward
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted April 3, 2012 Corsair Employee Share Posted April 3, 2012 I am sorry but you will want to get a set of modules made for and tested on X79 like one of the sets listed here. We would not suggest mixing memory, you might speak to the reseller and see if they can swap them for you.

Timeman
The reseller has changed my 2 kits for the right one. So now I have CMZ16GX3M4X1600C9 kit. I have instaled the kit. In the bios at first I applied the default settings and than enabled the xmp. The latency and vtt was ignored and stayed the same so I have changed them manualy. Vtt to 1.2 and latency from 9-9-11-24 to 9-9-9-24. The system is stable now. I would only like to know if the vtt is not to high.
peanutz94
Nope if you are stable and running fine then your voltage is fine. You are still well within Intels specs too!
