Swapping the fans on H150i Pro

Hi,

Was thinking of swapping the stock ML120s on the H150i Pro with three Noctua NF-A12x25. Thing is, the A12x25s have lower static pressure but higher CFM.

Would the cooler still net better temps if I swap the fans? Curious as a lot of people are saying the A12x25 is the best 120mm fan out there.

If I am not wrong, you may have some problems with the software to set the fan speeds and so on up or down if you are using any fans that aren't Corsair, of course if you pin the fans to the motherboard and not H150i or C-Pro it won't matter. If that isn't your case then you may swap it.

They should work. The only fans that commonly have control problems on recent controllers are the 3000 rpm Industrial variants and some of the PWM BeQuiet models. As for airflow, you can use the P-Q chart provided on their product page in relation to that fan. The ML will be close to the NF curve. The A12 is a hybrid blade design and like most in between fans it is not as effective at lower speeds in comparison to the flatter static pressure blade, but may move more air at higher speeds against radiator level resistance. Whether this extra airflow has any meaningful impact on cooling performance is something I can't answer and I have not tested those fans. It is a different blade design and does represent another option, for better or worse.

I have another question that's been bugging me. Please take a look at my current fan setup.

Here is the front with stock fans that came with the case: https://imgur.com/ojgD433

Right behind it is the 360mm H150i Pro with stock ML120s in pull config: https://imgur.com/FbrMGWr

Back with stock exhaust fan and two empty slots up top: https://imgur.com/mhBhsuo

My question is, to improve airflow and temps should the stock front rgb fans be replaced with other static pressure fans to better feed through the radiator?

Also, should I put two fans up top as intake or exhaust? I have three Noctua nf-12sx25 arriving tomorrow and current plan is to replace the exhaust with one and put it on max RPM, with the other two up top as intake. How does that sound?
