Vengeance RAM heat spreader glue

Hi all, this is my first post:biggrin:

I am using corsair vengeance RAM in my system (CMZ8GX3M2A1600C8 XMP) and I originally had a corsair A70 CPU cooler. In order to fit this thing in I had to remove the heatspreader off one of the RAM sticks, which went fine. I just used pulled the heatspreader plates appart a little bit and slid a modelling knife in between to cut the glue off the chips inside.

Now however I have upgraded the cooler to a H100 and so there is plenty of room for the heat spreader to go back on. My Question is: what glue is used to attach the metal heat spreader plates to the RAM? Is it some kind of special thermal glue or what?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanx for the reply.

Yeah I know I voided the warranty, but frankly I had no choice. As much as I love corsair products, I feel that the heatspreaders are too big and serve aesthetic reasons more than what they should be doing, bad design IMO.

AFAIK, I shall google it!
