Is this typical performance for Force Series 3 120 GB??

I'm just trying to make sure because in some places I look the performance is almost double what I'm getting here (this may be due to SATA II vs SATA III but I'm pretty sure I've seen SATA II results where the write speed is way higher). The drive is only a day old, and I secure erased and did a fresh install of windows. It's got the latest firmware, and due to my motherboard is running in SATA II speed.

Specs:

ASUS M4A785-M

AMD Phenom ii x2 555 Overclocked and unlocked to 3.6 ghz quad

AMD Radeon 5770

4gb ddr2 ram

600w PSU

(attachment thing wasn't working so here's the benchmark)

hi

your speed is normal for a sata2

Sata2 as a maximum ove 280MB/s

So u ave reach the maximum speed ove ur sata3 ssd on a sata2 port

U could buy a pcie 8x controller like Highpoint 2720sgl to get more from ur ssd

But if u don't wan't to make a raid 200$ is to much for only one ssd.

Don't buy a pcie 1x controller, using marvell 9128 chip.

This chip is bugy

U won't get more speed then with your sata2 controller.

Hope this help

Yes and no

U con't get full speed from small block

Maybe a litle slow but don't forget that u or using a sata2 controller

did you check if u ave last motherboard bios, chipset and driver

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1366/P6T_SE/#download

as it could improuve ssd stability and speed.

Don't forget to set sata controller to ahci mode if u or not using raid

As it optimize ssd

Hope this help

sincerly yours

Ok thanks for the help, but I'm also having an issue where my computer will sometimes lock up for 20 seconds or so for seemingly no reason. That's why the first couple results on ATTO are so low, because while it was running the computer locked up, then went back to normal when it gets to the normal looking part. Is there something wrong with the drive?
