10zind Posted February 19, 2009 Share Posted February 19, 2009 It has been almost a week now, since my 650tx just died on me while i was playing MTWII(medieval total war 2):(:. My pc just went off and it started smelling like burned rubber. I tried the paper clip test, didn't do anything. I actually requested RMA before testing but I recieved an shipping label already. I trust Corsair. I think it's great company, I hope they send me a new 650tx ps.:sunglasse Could power outages or surge might have caused this? What are the chances that my mobo or hd is damaged also? Its usually difficult to speculate on these types of things, because anything is possible. I would say its unlikely that any other components would be damaged, but I wouldn't rule it out completely. Same goes for a power outage or power surge. Technically if you have the PSU plugged into a surge protector it should not happen, but its still possible. Either way lets get the PSU replaced, and let us know if you have any more problems!
