znd125
Hi everyone, I am planning to use an AXi series PSU, H100i GTX, RGB LED kits and Corsair Commander Mini in my build, and use CL Dashboard software to control them. However, I am a little confused about how I should connect these devices. It appears that both AXi and H100i GTX have USB 2.0 cable to connect to motherboard directly. But it seems that I can also connect them (with CL digital cables) to the Corsair Commander Mini which in turn connects to motherboard via USB. My question is: Which one is the "right" way? If both methods work, is there a recommended best-practice? What would be the difference? Thank you.
red-ray
Both the CL Mini and H100iGTX have to be USB connected. My AX1500i is C-Link connected via a CL Mini and works well. I feel it's best to connect via the CL Mini when this is possible. For the AXi PSU both C-Link and USB connection should work equally well, that said there can be issues with the AXi PSU USB driver such as http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=152921.
