Keltik
Corsair link runs on my windows 10, but every so often it crashes and I just get the windows message 'link stopped working'. Tried reinstalling, no joy. Also, it keeps on messing with my gpu. I'll have my fans set to a curve grouped with the gpu but every time I restart my Machine it has gpu in a 'phantom' gpu that reads 0 degrees.. I have to move my fans into the got group every single reboot. Just wondered if there's any fix to this? Not sure why coding link with Windows is such a difficult task. I have: H110i GTX Ax1200i Mini commander
Corsair Employee Corsair Dustin Posted August 24, 2015 Corsair Employee Share Posted August 24, 2015 Did you do an in-place upgrade to Windows 10 or a clean install?
Keltik
Clean install. If I minimize corsair link it runs in the background fine, but as soon as I open it up and click something it crashes.
Corsair Employee Corsair Dustin Posted August 25, 2015 Corsair Employee Share Posted August 25, 2015 Is it the only program crashing on your system? I looked at your specs, 4.9GHz on an i7-4790K is insane.
Keltik
Oops. That's a type-o. It's 4.8ghz, 1.3v. I have a good cpu, its the only program that crashes. Occt runs stable for 48 hours. It's something with corsair link, it only happens when I open like link up and click something. I have the h110i connected to my usb header. I have my mini commander connected to USB header. And my ax1200i connected to my mini commander along with my case fans. Maybe I just need to try another clean install of win10.
Corsair Employee Corsair Dustin Posted August 31, 2015 Corsair Employee Share Posted August 31, 2015 Are you running AI Suite in the background? 4.8GHz at 1.3V is cherry.
Tiberiusisgame
+1 Fresh install of Windows 10, I'm running the latest Precision X. Crash appears to be random. I've attached an Event Viewer log history of the crashes over the past 2 days; they didn't seem to reveal much to me either than a VB mention. Potential involved components are as follows : H80i GT on USB header Commander Mini on USB header AX860i Linked to Commander Mini RGB LED on Commander Mini 1500v2 Headset running Corsair Headset Gaming Control Center K70 RGB running Corsair Unity EngineLink_crashes.zip
Corsair Employee Corsair Dustin Posted October 28, 2015 Corsair Employee Share Posted October 28, 2015 This is all with version 3.2.5742?
Tiberiusisgame
Yes, 3.2.5742 Often all of my gauges will go to zero and new gauges will appear in the left hand column with the actual values; a sort of reset.
Tiberiusisgame
Additional information: Link crashed. After re-launching the program and a reboot, Link still reported 0 on all temps and RPMs. I toggled between performance and quiet mode from the taskbar icon and the temps and RPMs reappeared. The crash happened while the system was idling; I changed nothing.
Mark_K
I had this problem were after CL being idel for some time I would click on the picture of the desktop and it would crash. I found a setting that allows CL to run in windows 10 mode however I don't remember where I saw it. Anyone have any idea where that is?
Mark_K
Find the ICON and left click on it. Go to Compatibility tab and change it to Windows 7 That fixed the crashing for me.
Tiberiusisgame
Oh, you mean the icon from the installation directory, not from the task bar. Took me a while to realize that.
Tiberiusisgame
Changing to Windows 7 compatibility mode did not correct the issue for me. I'll try Windows 8 next. Someone remind me to check the event logs next time!
Tiberiusisgame
Some followup information regarding this issue: The attached image is a list of errors this application has experienced. I've also attached a text file of details of each event. The errors have been due to several issues, including insufficient memory (of which I have 16GB, so doubtful). I have run Link in Windows 7, 8 and normal compatibility mode without change.Link_Event_txt.txt
