Agreed, I think I'm worryng too much about effectiveness using a high end psu for low load rig's (only one vga card and no overclocking in mind). My current psu is showing age and loves dust, haha Well it will be my first semi-passive psu... So just out of my curiosity, how does work it's fan control behaviour? Does it work like a semi-passive vga card, the fan stars after some amount of % load, internal component temperature? Thanks for your support here! Cooler and quieter.That's only part of the answer not a technically responsible answer. If you take efficiency into account then you should try to be working in the 40-90% load range. NB. from what I've read about the AX1600i, it is still extremely efficient at under 10% load but that could be the Gallium Nitrate MOSFETs at work. According to the psu calculator from OuterVision: Load Wattage: 357 W Recommended PSU Wattage: 407 W Although I know the calculator shows just conservative numbers for safety. My current pc pulls most likely less than 250 W. According to review the system power consumption (3770K overclocked + Gtx 960 G1 Gaming) is 235W load (source).
