Memtest86+ Test

I recently had a 8 GB set of ******** RAM fail on me in my home-built system, so I replaced them with the Corsair Vengence 8 GB (2x 4GB) DDR3 SDRAM 1866 (PC3 15000). During the Memtest86+ test of the new sticks I noticed the following on the screen:

"Slot 0 4096 MB PC3-10600 - Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9 *XMP*

Slot 1 4096 MB PC3-10600 - Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9 *XMP*"

Also at the top of this screen it listed under settings:

"RAM: 933 MHz (DDR3-1866/CAS:9-10-9-27/Dual Channel)"

I have an Intel Core i5-2500K with an ASUS P8P67 Deluxe MOBO, running a dual-boot Win7 64-bit on one HD, and WinXP on the other HD. An Intel board said these sticks were specifically tested with this CPU/MOBO combo and determined to be compatible. My question is this:

Shouldn't that line above, "PC3-10600", have said "PC3-15000"? Or does it matter? This is my first time with failed RAM and using Memtest. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The SPD has to be set to something that the MB/CPU can post at with a lower frequency support IE if your MB only supports DDR1066 or DDR1333 it would not post if the SPD values are set higher than the MB/CPU in question will support at default setting. The XMP values are going to be an over clock for almost any system on the market and enabling that setting will automatically over clock your system to get these settings.
