leegrissom
I'm about to send in my X128 SSD in for an RMA firmware update (to firmware 2.0 that supports the TRIM command). I cloned my SSD onto a spindle drive so that I can continue working. My question is: When I get the X128 back, can I just re-clone it from my spindle drive? Or do I have to re-install all my software from scratch onto the X128? What's the recommendation? -- Lee
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted June 9, 2010 Corsair Employee Share Posted June 9, 2010 No but I would suggest you wipe the drive with parted magic before you image it back.
leegrissom
No but I would suggest you wipe the drive with parted magic before you image it back. To be clear, you mean wipe the "spindle" drive with parted magic before imaging it back to the SSD? Or did you mean to wipe the "SSD" with parted magic? Thanks, Lee
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted June 9, 2010 Corsair Employee Share Posted June 9, 2010 NO use parted magic to secure erase the SSD drive before you image it from your spinning HDD.
