I am not entirely sure how it happens either since that should be just a straight click switch. Either exchange it from the local vendor or contact Corsair to see about a replacement. Make they know it's brand new. Pretty sure its the spring that is a little bit lose on this particular button and it does that strange metallic sound when you press it. I can return it to amazon right where i ordered it from, just opened the box today, but i am losing my hope in the quality control seriously, i have gotten so many defective Corsair products this year that i am not getting surprised anymore.
