APynckel
I'm using a full OEM H80i V2 kit (including fans) and I just ensured that I have everything connected properly (USB to header, fans plugged into dongle from pump, other side to CPU fan header), but for some reason I cannot control my fan speed. I used to be able to select between performance and quiet, and there would be an instantaneous audible difference in RPM, now nothing (and the RPM readout for the fans in the corsair link software doesn't change). I also no longer can seem to find an option to change my LED color on the pump. This is what I see on my "configure" tab And home There's no option I can find anywhere for a custom fan curve either. Has my pump/controller gone bad?
DevBiker
It's not showing up. Take a look at item #1 in the Hydro Cooler FAQ in my signature.
APynckel
Some kind of driver issue...
DevBiker
Did you right click and enable the driver? That's #1 in the FAQ. If that's not working, what's the error message?
APynckel
Did you right click and enable the driver? That's #1 in the FAQ. If that's not working, what's the error message? It was already enabled, but I disabled and re-enabled it and still no success. I've since completely uninstalled Link, and reinstalled, but I'm getting the same driver issue
APynckel
It was already enabled, but I disabled and re-enabled it and still no success. I've since completely uninstalled Link, and reinstalled, but I'm getting the same driver issue I am unable to find a driver to get the images above to resolve. Anyone have a clue? I've uninstalled / reinstalled but windows still won't let the device work? Maybe i need to plug the pump into a different USB header on the mobo? DevBiker
The drivers should be installed when you install Link. Certainly, there were there before so this is a little unusual. You can try another USB port; at this point it can't hurt. Perhaps dropping back a version in Link as well?
APynckel
Tried another usb, no fix.
DevBiker
What about going down a version? What version are you trying to install?
APynckel
I'll try that soon. I'm currently on 4.9.4.
APynckel
I downgraded to 4.6.0.86 and everything works again edit: On 4.8.0.82 and everything works still edit 2: 4.8.3.8 works as well edit 3: 4.9.0.57 appears to work
DevBiker
Yeah, you just needed to get the driver installed. Once it was there, you were good. Now ... should the situation arise where the cooler doesn't show up in Link again, try disabling/enabling the device in Device Manager. It'll save a bit of headache. ;):
APynckel
Well the driver had to have been there before, because I've only "upgraded" through the prompt in CL. So, I have no idea where it went when I upgraded to 4.9.
APynckel
Just for giggles I just upgraded to 4.9.4.28 through the "there's an upgrade" prompt. Once again, there's a driver issue. Now device manager doesn't even know what the device is.
APynckel
Okay, now this is strange. I'm still on 4.9.0.57 and my control has dropped out AGAIN. WTH I've disabled / re-enabled, and it did nothing.
DevBiker
I believe that may have been one of the versions with the driver signing issue. Have you updated to a more recent release?
APynckel
Yes, several times, and just now. No dice.
DevBiker
What error does the driver show? Also, are you running any other system control tools, particularly anything that controls RGB?
APynckel
Now i'm getting a "drivers not installed" code 28 for an unknown device after updating to 4.9.5.25 And no, no RGB control tools
APynckel
Once again, dropping the version back down to 4.8.3.8 installed the drivers and I got control back.
