tmeares
I built this system https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kVBH8Y Even in bios the outside of the powersupply feels extremely warm. Temperatures for CPU/MB arent overheating. Just the outside back and the top of the computer case itself is extremely warm. Is this normal? Edit: I tried the PSU with just a fan hooked up like in the sample video and it works however the PSU still gets extremely warm.
Corsair Mike
Hi Tmeares, Just curious are you using the PSU as the only exhaust. If so that could be sucking all of the hot air off of the CPU cooler. So adding a rear exhaust fan would mitigate that. If you do have a rear fan I would make a ticket with support. tmeares
Hi Tmeares, Just curious are you using the PSU as the only exhaust. There is a 120mm fan infront of the pc and I added a coolermaster 120MM to the side panel and it still felt hot. I then found an older CPU fan and mounted it to the back of the pc above the MB connections(video/usb slots) and the temperature wasn't noticeable however that lil fan was WAY to loud(from a 10+ year old machine) so I ordered a new one and well see how that goes. It just got me wondering I had it laying on the desk with only the 120mm fan plugged in and the MB connector bridged with a paperclip like in the video and after 1-2 mins running it was getting hot. This is the method I keep referencing http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63991
tiessar
I doubt it's extremely warm, but as it's warmer than your body temp you just feel that way.
