Default Need help to upgrade the firmware of Corsair P128 SSD

Hi,

I'm planning to use my Corsair Performance P128 SSD on Windows 7.
Although I'm not totally sure about this, I believe I have to upgrade the firmware to support TRIM.
Currently, the SSD has a performance around 80% according to HD Sentinel.

So, I tried following the firmware download guide (PDF file) found in this thread:
http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthre...riesTRIMLaunch

The difficult step is for me how to create a bootable DOS that is able to run the AUTOEXEC.BAT file.

Here's are the steps I did.

1. created a FAT32 partition with GParted on an USB key
and set the "boot" flag "On" for this partition.
(I also tried with FAT16 as suggested.)

2. used UNetbootin for Windows 5.8.5, selected the FreeDOS distribution, the "USB Drive" type and the drive letter of the corresponding USB key and created the bootable key.

3. From the downloadable zip archive, extracted the "AUTOEXEC.BAT" file
as well as the DSRD folder and added them to the key.

4. Removed the "Read only" attribute from the "AUTOEXEC.BAT" file.

5. Set the BIOS to boot on the USB drive and attached the P128 SSD in SATA.

The result :

1. The USB key boots and display UNetbootin, and let me launch is with "Default" options

2. The following menu displays :
Code:
          1. Install to hard disk using FreeDOS SETUP (default)
          2. FreeDOS Safe Mode (don't load any drivers)
          3. FreeDOS Live CD with HIMEM + EMM386
          4. FreeDOS Live CD with HIMEM only
          5. FreeDOS Live CD only
3. Whatever the option selected, it outputs an error "No booted CD-ROM found." (like FreeDOS was originally designed to be launched as a live CD-ROM and not as a live USB-Key).
However, there is some command prompt displaying "A:\>" and a blinking cursor.

4. When I enter the "dir" command, the directories (DRIVER, FREEDOS) as well as the files (COMMAND, FDCONFIG, KERNEL) of FreeDOS are listed , but neither is "AUTOEXEC.BAT", nor the "DSRD" folder.

So, what to do?

Could I not simply run AUTOEXEC.BAT from a shell in the Windows operating system and have the Corsair P128 SSD attached as second drive?

Would the Corsair SSD Toolbox allow to upgrade the firmware more easily, or is this sofware only for newer models?

Thanks a lot for your support.

at the command prompt, what results do you have when you enter "fsutil.exe behavior query DisableDeleteNotify" (without the quotes)?

Selecting the option 1 in the menu and then enter at the command prompt the command you tell, I have the following error message :
Code:
Bad command or filename - "fsutil.exe".

The Corsair Toolbox revealed that my Corsair P128 already had the latest firmware.
To install it, you need to run the .exe from a command prompt.

Not sure how that's possible since the toolbox never supported the P series (too old).
