qdart1
Greetings. I bought the CMV4GX3M2A1333C9 4GB-Kit. However after I installed the RAM I used CPUZ-Z to check if everything works correctly and to my surprise it stated the "Part Number" as VS2GB1333D4. As I expected my RAM Name to be listed there so I googled and found out that this was indeed another RAM. To check if this wasn't a failure of CPU-Z I also tried "Speccy" but it gave the same results. Of course I checked the "sticker" on the RAM itself, which states CMV4GX3M2A1333C9. Until now I didn't encounter any issues. I was wondering what this means. Should I send the RAM back to get a new pair? Hope you guys can help. Thanks in advance. peanutz94
Can you post a pic of your module please and also your CPUz screenshots. Either the SPD chip was programed wrong or it's a fake. There is also the possibility the part number is irrelevant. Part numbers can be different than the "kit" number. But what makes me suspicious is that the VS prefix is a couple of years old and before they went to the CMV prefix. Can I ask where you bought it from? qdart1
Sorry it took awhile for me to answer. I bought it in a german online store. The link to the product would be here. http://www.hardwareversand.de/1333+Low+Voltage/38051/4GB-Kit+Corsair+Valueselect+DDR3-1333+CL9.article . It's a pretty common place to buy PC-Parts from, so if it's a fake I doubt the shop itself faked it.
peanutz94
It's all good. Memory and SPD tabs are OK. And that is identified correctly. VS2GB1333D4 is the individual stick part number. CMV4GX3M2A1333C9 is the kit number.
