semola Posted December 4, 2018 Share Posted December 4, 2018 Hi all, I need your advice to solve (or not have) a problem with 2 different model of memory mounted on the same machine. I have a PC with ASUS P8Z77-V LE Plus mainboard and i5-3470 processor. This PC PC uses 4x4Gb modules (for total 16Gb of a CML16GX3M4A1600C9 kit). Recently 1 of 4 modules has broken and I need to replace it with another module. I have found, from a friend, a CML4GX3M1A1600C9 module. I have noted that the version of the original kit is different from the single module (ver. 8.16 vs 5.21). Can I replace my broken module this? If yes, it's better to use different modules in the black slots or in the blue slots? I know that isn't a good custom merge different modules on a dual channel system.
