ChrisJohn Posted September 29, 2009 Share Posted September 29, 2009 Some weeks ago, there were some threads querying the fact that disk utilities such as CrystalDiskInfo, SiSoft Sandra etc. were only reporting half the specified level of cache available on the Extreme SSD series. I recall that Corsair was examining this paradox. I do not remember seeing any conclusion to this testing being posted? Any comments or answers would be appreciated. It would at least be helpful to know if this is just a "technical" issue and the whole cache is available to the OS to use or if, perhaps, the OS can actually only see and use half what is physically fitted. Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted September 29, 2009 Corsair Employee Share Posted September 29, 2009 The anomaly has not been solved, however these utilities are miss reporting the cache on other manufacturers drives using the same controller so the consensus is the software is miss reporting the cache or it may be a bug in the drives firmware which is still under investigation.
