andrew-ca
Hi All, Just my first expierence in installing AIO liquid cooler so sorry if this already been answered couple times. When installing the backplate on my MSI Z390 Mobo for the H115i kit on a i7-9700K the screws are normal thigthened but there is still space between backplate and mobo. So standoff screws are good mounted for 115x. I didn’t install the pump on the cpu because i first wanna know if this is normal. Is this little spacing/movement by design? (Some mentioned to use additional spacers but that seem for me strange) Any help welcome! Thanks Andrew
c-attack
It will tighten when you screw down the pump. Also, you're not really "bolting" the pump to the motherboard. It's more like hanging a picture. The backplate is meant to help distribute the weight, not serve as the foundation for an immovable object.
