ki_2004
Hi all, I was going through manual of corsair 100R case. It shows 2 different types of screws for SSDs. See the screenshot. ssd/odd screws and ssd pan head screws. The pan head screws are only 4 in number, so I wonder what they are for and where do they get fitted actually? Can anyone clarify? Are they for M2 ssd by any chance?
tennengr
I used the 4 pan head screws to attach my Samsung 860 EVO 2.5" SSD into the top slide out rack of the Corsair 460X RGB case HDD cage. I screwed them into the bottom of the slideout rack and into the SSD screw holes. Note that probably 4 of the 16 SSD screws would probably have worked as I think the difference is in the shape of the screw head (flat vs rounded). tennengr
Sorry … I now see that the screws have different threads. I had no trouble using the pan head screws in the HDD cage slideout rack with the larger threads. I would assume that "stripping" would have occurred with tighter threads in both the rack and the SSD and I did not experience that.
