jrwininger
Are washers needed for radiator screws? I'm installing a new Corsair Hydro X radiator in a 1000d case. I'm concerned that the screws may be a bit too long. Would it best best to use washers? I'm curious why they weren't included. Are they generally not needed? Corsair Employee Corsair GregX Posted July 8, 2019 Corsair Employee Share Posted July 8, 2019 Generally, washers are not needed. Corsair XR5 and XR7 radiators come with three screw lengths which cover installation with broad range of fans, cases and XD5 fan mounting brackets. On the radiators, there are also screw protection plates to prevent damage to the radiator core. If pushed on them you will hear a squeaky noise. If there is still a lot of thread to go to tighten the screw, it's viable use washers with longer screws if you cannot use the shorter set of screws.
