dc8flyer
Link continues to lock up as well as locking up Windows 10 at the same time. The two faults occur at the same time. dc8flyer
Another day another Windows Freeze associated with the LINK. Also another week with no contributor offering any support. Not sure why that is but it I would appreciated a contributor discussing possible fixes. Description A problem with your hardware caused Windows to stop working correctly. dc8flyer
Additional info found in Event Viewer at the same Freeze time. - <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> - <System> <Provider Name="Microsoft-Windows-CodeIntegrity" Guid="{ }" /> <EventID>3004</EventID> <Version>0</Version> <Level>2</Level> <Task>1</Task> <Opcode>104</Opcode> <Keywords>0x8000000000000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2018-08-19T12:29:16.727239900Z" /> <EventRecordID>54496</EventRecordID> <Correlation ActivityID="{ }" /> <Execution ProcessID="13532" ThreadID="9332" /> <Channel>Microsoft-Windows-CodeIntegrity/Operational</Channel> <Computer> -PC</Computer> <Security UserID=" " /> </System> - <EventData> <Data Name="FileNameLength">61</Data> <Data Name="FileNameBuffer">\Device\HarddiskVolume2\Windows\System32\drivers\atikmpag.sys</Data> </EventData> </Event> Another Event at same time: Windows is unable to verify the image integrity of the file\Device\harddiskVolume2\Windows\System32\drivers\atikmpaq.sys because file hash could not be found on the system. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or might be malicious software from an unknown source. The atikmpaq.sys is an AMD video product. I use to have AMD cards but switched to nVidia some time ago and all AMD software, etc was uninstalled and registry cleaned. Perhaps the LINK software needs to better discriminate what product is on your system as it is loading. I suspect the LINK is locking up as it tries to load its program expecting both products to be available instead of discriminating what is actually on your computer. dc8flyer
There are no AMD programs listed in Programs and Features to uninstall, however a "This PC" file search came up with three, possibly four AMD remnant files that might be causing the LINK issues everyone seems to be experiencing. Atiapfxx: 1) Application Profile Utility 2) BLB file Atibtmon: 1) Ati brightness monoitor Atieab64: 1) no specific info other than a large binary file. Atiexlxx: 1) AMD External Events Client Module I suspect these remnant files might be behing the LINK issues. I'll try deleting these files after I make a Clone and see what happens. Perhaps in the mean time Corsair and look into these finds as see if there is any correlation to the LINK causing Window's freeze and LINK failure. So far no more Windows freeze or LINK issues, but it has only been one day. I deleted three Ati remnant files and it seems to have worked. If I get any errors I'll repost. But if you went from an Ati (AMD) video card to a nVidia card look for these three files and delete everything in them. The are small files: Atiapfxx Atibtmon Atieclxx The one other I left installed was: Atieb64 Let the "gurus" on the board know your results so they might wake up and pass the info onto Corsair. screwtech02
I have multiple AMD cards, and have to restart LINK 3-4 times a day. have passed logs up the chain in the past, and have heard nothing on any type of fixes... Funny last update notes for latest LINK state "improved comparability with AMD cards"...... Doubt there will be any more updates for it, as they are pushing the IQUE stuff now. Sad when you provide the info, then get asked to provide the info because they really aren't reading your post, provide the info anyway, and then never hear back. I can say that my removing the three AMD remnants has almost cured the LINK. I don't get the MS Edge Freeze associated with the LINK failure anymore or even a sporadic LINK failure. However I now notice that if I restart the computer a LINK fault is generated but has no affect on the system. Probably just not communicating with Windows properly at shutdown.
