ChrisMCP
Hi, Just wanted to make sure that CMP16GX3M4X1600C7 would actually run as 1600 (7-8-8-24) with all 4 slots populated on MSI Z68A-GD65 (Gen3) and 2600K. Or would it downclock to 1333? I'm asking because CMP16GX3M4X1866C9 is 14$ less, but timings are greater and since I don't plan to overclock for now -- 1600 looks like the way to go. I just want to make sure filling all 4 slots would not be an issue. Thanks
peanutz94
Should be just fine!
ChrisMCP
Should be just fine! Thanks for the reply! BTW, would you go for CMP16GX3M4X1866C9 in my case? I mean it's 14 buck less than the 1600 version, but has greater timings. So it's kinda - lesser timings on 1600 vs higher bandwith with higher timings type of dilemma  Thanks
peanutz94
Honestly you wouldn't notice much of a difference if at all in real world performance without a bench mark. So it's up to you. Just keep in mind that 1866mmhz is an overclock and may require some voltage tweaking to get them stable.
