"Serial Presence Detect" (SPD) Support

I bought a Intel Motherboard "D865GBF" with an Intel Chipset 865G. According to the Manual, I may use a DDR400 SDRAM, DDR333 or DDR226. (184pin). "But" it is very specific that the memory "needs" to support "Serial Presence Detect" SPD, otherwise it's not going to work. I searched through Corsair memory info sheets and have not found any details regarding this specification. Would you please clarify this matter? Thanks in advance, Paul

In simple terms, "SPD" are latency settings that are programmed into the module's Serial Presence Detect componet. This ensures that under default conditions the system will boot up at optimal memory settings. You did'nt specify which CPU you'll be using, but the TwinX1024-3200C2 or LL would be a safe bet.
