Aspect
I have a stick of 3200LL clocked at 2-2-2-6 , the new rev's are clocked at 2-3-2-6 . Would they work together in dual channel? Would they just run at the lower rated timings?
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted December 19, 2003 Corsair Employee Share Posted December 19, 2003 You should set the timings manually to Cass 2-3-2-6 with the Rass to Cass set to "3", And set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts. But they should be fine.
Aspect
If i just put them in together wouldnt they just run at the lower rating?
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted December 19, 2003 Corsair Employee Share Posted December 19, 2003 No! You may need to set the timings manually. That would really depend on the MB. And most of them do not read the SPD correctly as it is.
Aspect
SPD? I got a Asus A78NX.
Aspect
If i change one of the sticks to the other timings , should i be ok?
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted December 22, 2003 Corsair Employee Share Posted December 22, 2003 Please try and set the timings manually to these settings and you should be fine: SDRAM CAS Latency: 2T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 2T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6T And I would set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts as well. Also you shoudl sett he memory Freq at 100% or 1 to1 with this CPU/Chipset.
Aspect
I tried yesterday and it worked fine , although i didnt change the voltage.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted December 22, 2003 Corsair Employee Share Posted December 22, 2003 As long as your up and running you should be fine! But I would suggest setting the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts as that will help long term stability.
