madlan
Hi, One of my ram modules has stopped working (I have 4 CM2X1024-8500C5D) I've tested them individually with memtest, the faulty one causes the system to hang at the RAM test so definitely suspect. My question is, I have 2 x 1GB pairs but they are not labelled, I'm assuming I should get the matched pair replaced? If so, how do I know which ones are paired? They are not labelled and I've taken them all out for testing without noting their positions! Thanks.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted December 23, 2011 Corsair Employee Share Posted December 23, 2011 I am sorry but if there is no label on the modules we would not be able to replace them under our warranty, do you have a copy of the invoice where you purchased them? madlan
They do have labels but they all have the same numbers, theres nothing defining them as pairs. These were replaced by you in 2007 (You said I should get the pair replaced rather than one stick as they are paired at the factory?)
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted December 28, 2011 Corsair Employee Share Posted December 28, 2011 All of our modules will come with a label, if we did replace them then please contact our customer service with your previous RMA# and they will do their best to help you. However with out a label the Warranty is technically VOID.

Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted January 2, 2012 Corsair Employee Share Posted January 2, 2012 Yes I did miss that! On the label under the part number; the two modules that match will have the same lot Code and the lot code will be an 8 Digit number that will start with the year they were made< IE if you purchased them in 2008 the lot number will start with an 08. madlan
They all have the same number, they were replaced a while back so I guess Corsair sent out 4 from the same batch? Should I send in just the one DIMM then for RMA?
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted January 14, 2012 Corsair Employee Share Posted January 14, 2012 I would suggest you send them all and get them all replaced.
