sirxazor
So I purchased my third 240GB sandforce SSD, and because I didn't want to pay full price I purchased one that said refurbished by corsair. After I got the product I noticed that everything looked the same except of saying 240GB on the SSD it said "Refurbished" so I was like hmm okay. After hooking it up to my computer, starting windows and formatting the drive, I go to corsair toolbox to do some firmware update and... I can't because the firmware is weird. The model number shows as: Storage Space [uDS:BusTypes.btOther] Fixed Disk Serial Number shows as nothing firmware version as 0.1 Size as 238.3GB ATA Version: Minor version is not reported (unknown) features: nothing temperature: nothing. while my other SSDs show as Corsair Force 3 SSD SCSI Fixed Disk Serial number longnumber here Firmware Version 5.05 Size 240GB ATA Version ACS-2 revision 3 (ATA8-ACS) features LBA,DMA,TRIM,SMART,security, NCQ, APM temperature nothing Can someone please tell me whats going on here? should I give this back to newegg and get a new one or what? or is this normal? Toasted
Doesn't look normal. It should at least say its a Corsair SSD in the toolbox. I'd wait for a reply from an Corsair Employee to tell you if its ok or not.
