tomhunt504
I have a dell 8700 with an Manufacturer Intel® Core i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz Clock Speed 3.6Ghz L2 Cache Size 1024 Dell rep says they don't have a Liquid cooling fan for my CPU. Is this correct? If not, someone please let me know what would work with my system. Thanks
DevBiker
Unfortunately, it's really hard to say what will fit without physically examining the chassis ... and Dell (and HP and others) don't typically make it easy to "go off the reservation" and do a lot of customization to the systems. You may be better off replacing the case ... but then, it's also possible that the motherboard isn't quite standard ATX. Again, that's tough to say. c-attack
It would be surprising if you can't mount the 115x kit on the CPU and you are probably looking for something like the H60 (2018). However, finding a place for the 120mm radiator/fan combo is something else. It would need to go on the rear exhaust, but fitting a 120mm fan and the slightly larger radiator are two different things. You need to see how much space there is around the outside. Dell also likes to use proprietary connectors. Motherboard fan headers are usually OK, but there are often a rather limited number. PSU may not have extra options to power the pump if you can't do it from the board.
