I think I have already answered this in another thread.

This Notebook will see a max of 2 512 Meg PC-2700 200 Pin SO Dim modules.

So the part# would be VS512SDS333, and you will need to replace the modules you have installed now. According to Sony that NB comes with 2-256 Meg modules installed.

The difference is the timings and speed settings set in the SPD, but according to the information on Sony's site this notebook comes with DDR333. I would check you modules with CPU-Z and see what in the SPD of the modules. If you have PC2100 memory, you might ask Sony if you specific model will run with DDR333 and I would not suggest mixing them.
