Jason R Joseph
I have to two (2x4) 8GB pairs of Corsair Dominator Platinum ram in my Asus ROG Maximus VII Formula motherboard. The problem that I have is one pair of ram is (CMD8GX3M2B2133C9 at 1.65V) and the other is (CMD8GX3M2A2133C9 at 1.50V). When I select the XMP profile I encounter memory read errors in Windows 8.1 Pro specifically 7-Zip.The system is fully stable when the memory speed is set to 2000MHz. What memory timings and XMP profile should I use?
emissary42
Since the CMD8GX3M2B2133C9 probably need more than 1.50V for their specifications, i would try using their XMP with 1.65V first. It is however not optimal to mix kits with different specifications and you might have to manually tune some of the secondary timings for stability. As far as voltage goes 1.65V should still be safe for the CMD8GX3M2A2133C9.
