Evo
Hey there! I can't really tell you how i went to this topic but i found some quotes by the G.Skill tech support about combining kits. E.g. 2x 4. They said that they sell kits for a reason and can't guarantee that they will work properly together. I never ever thought about that and used a heck of different 4x Kits together to build higher frequency 64GB/32GB kit's by stock due to the fact that they have mostly higher frequencys than the 64GB kits. TL;DR: Had anyone of you guys bad experience with combining 2x 4 slot Corsair RAM Kits in 8 RAM slots?
emissary42
The answer is probably the same with all manufacturers, because of warranty implications. Only modules sold as a kit are guaranteed to work together. This does not mean mixing kits never works out, however there is a chance that you might encounter problems when doing so.
