turbo_goat Posted March 3, 2019 Share Posted March 3, 2019 Its apparently really bad to draw 12v for both slots from one cord. corsair gives you a cable that splits and can easily plug in, but i read on toms hardware that its a horrible idea, and my gaming temps ddropped TWENTY degrees (? no idea why) after running another independent pcie cable from the psu. so any rtx 2080 or 2080ti owners, be careful, you can nuke your gpu by wiring one cable to both "outlets":!: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
turbo_goat Posted March 3, 2019 Author Share Posted March 3, 2019 and since im here, is a rmx750 gold plated enough to power h115i, rtx 2080, i7 9700k, 4 ram sticks, 6 fans, and my monitor? i have no idea and am tempted to buy a 1000w as riva tuner is telling me power is my limiting factor, and afterburner says im always close to max, but idk if i believe it... The CPU is 100W, RAM is 10W, 6 fans is 20W and the cpu cooler is 20W rx 2080 is about 220W or so for the dual cables for the video card, use 2 cables from the PSU to have adequate current so 750W is adequate, could be the PSU fan is dirty and needs cleaning Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
