RGB Strip Problems

Hello, I recently bought the CoPro and the Lighting Kit Pro and installed them into my case; however, one of the strips doesn't appear to be working when connected to another strip that works... BUT it works if it is just connected by itself to the CoPro. Mind you, I made sure all 4 of these strips were properly working in their orientation BEFORE booting Windows and installing ICUE.

 

I've thoroughly read guides and FAQs on here but I can't seem to find a fix. I've tried using different extension wires to each strip, nothing works. Everything is connected down properly, no loose wire or crushed strips.

Also that strip isn't the only problem I am having. A single LED in another strip has a different color than the rest and only cycles through 3 colors on rainbow wave setting while the others cycle through at least 5 or more.

What happens if you take the 2nd strip (that doesn't work when connected) and reverse it with the other strip? Keep in mind that the strips operate in series, so if 1 strip isn't passing the signal or power or ground, the next strip won't work.

Okay so I redid the layout of my strips to all be on 1 channel of the CoPro: https://i.imgur.com/WCnYZCo.jpg. The strip that was previously flickering is now working but it isn't giving power to the 2 strips where my top radiator is. I made sure everything is connected up there.

You definitely have some bad strips. You'll need to get methodical about narrowing them down. Start with 1 strip. Does it light? Yes. Good. Next strip. Does it light? Yes? If so, then add the first strip. Do both light? Do this one at a time. Use masking tape to mark/identify the strips.

Every strip works when independently plugged into the CoPro.

 

Using labeling, A (PSU shroud), B (front radiator), C (top radiator #1), D (top radiator #2) = 4 strips separately. In my original diagram A->B lit but C and D did not. I plugged B->C and they both lit. C->D both lit. A->C both lit. A->D both lit. And finally B->D both lit.

 

So with that said, I have no clue why 2 of any strip is able to be lit and working properly but adding a 3rd of 4th strip nulls them.

 

Edit: To further the combos, A->B->C, C doesn't light. A->D->C, C doesn't light. Any other combo like (A->C->D) I cannot physically reach and/or I do not have enough extension cables (only 4 came with the kit). Perhaps this could all be an issue with CoPro not supplying enough power to reach the 3rd and 4th strips? I wish I could lay all 4 strips down on a table and test more combos but that would require me to drain my whole system and remove the top panel+radiator.

I understand that they each work independently. That's not what we need to resolve/determine. It sounds like B and D are problematic, at least, as they aren't passing the signal to the other strips. You'll have to get them replaced.

 

The CoPro does supply enough power to reach the third and fourth strips. It will power up to six strips on each channel. I can personally verify that this is the case as I have done it.

In that case, either you don't have the channel set up correctly (is it configured as 2x HD-RGB fans??), the effects configured correctly, or the 3rd strip is bad.
