Fan ticking

This has been doing my head in for months and I finally found out what was causing it.

Some genius at Corsair thought it would be a great idea to cover half of the fan with a clear hard plastic square about half the length and width of the PSU. The only reason I saw it was because I ran the PSU out of the case with a flashlight shining in it and could see the plastic flicking the fan.

Now that I've opened the PSU and taken out the plastic, it runs silent and much much cooler.

WT actual F guys. Covering a fan like this is beyond retarded.

It was there on purpose, it even had cutouts for the screws. There's also a piece that runs the height of the PSU, which I'm assuming prevents internals touching the side of the enclosure.

I'm pretty sure the plastic covering the fan is there to prevent the loop of wires touching the blades, but a few seconds to make sure they are neatly in place would have prevented this being an issue.

I would show a pic of it in place but a fully loaded 750D is a bitch to move and get the PSU out again.

Here's a tear down of a CX750 with a very similar piece covering the fan
